Florida International University (FIU)

FIU has been ranked among the top 100 public national universities in U.S news and World Report annual guide to " America's Best Colleges ". Through its eighteen colleges and schools, FIU offers more than 190 baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs in more than 280 majors, including preprofessional programs in dentistry, law, medicine and veterinary medicine. Major academic divisions are the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering, Health and Urban Affairs; the Honors College; and the College of Law. The University currently has more than 300 registered students organizations that enrich campus life and contribute to the social, cultural, and academic growth of students. Both campuses offers state of the art recreational facilities and appartment style housing that provides students with the opportunity to live with others in convenient and supportive residential setting.

For International Students:
The University offers a full range of services to support international students in both their academic and personal lives. The office of international students and scholar services assists international students by providing advising services related to immigration, legal, personal, academic, cultural, social and financial concerns. The English Language Institute (ELI) at FIU is a fully equipped, state-of-the-art language training center that is a part of the University's college of Arts and Sciences. Since 1978, the ELI has taught close to 35000 international students and professional from more than forty-five countries to master the English language through the use of proven educational methods and the most up-to-date learning facilities.

Disney world, the Everglades, marine and state parks, Seaquarium, Metro Zoo, Fairchild Tropical Gardens, and Parrot Jungle Island are popular student attractions. Other favorite year round activities include swimming, waterskiing, scuba diving, sailing, tennis, golf and horseback riding.
